Varis Koropiou Highway

SITE ANALYSIS

The present landscape architecture study confronted the integrated design of both fronts of tunnels of Varis-Κoropiou Avenue, and the integration of construction in the landscape. The integration of construction in the landscape and aesthetic upgrading of the looks of tunnels initially was ensured through the design of fronts of tunnels. The sharp, perpendicular to the axis of the road show of fronts was avoided and a gradual transition from the street level at the entrance of the tunnels was ensured, expressed with slopes, so that the entire system to harmonize and to join in the immediate surroundings. The planting concerted on this logic, contributed to the gradual transition. The complete configuration has been addressed so that the transition from the impaired landscape in natural to be progressive and may as far as possible to snap to the status quo.
